Trailer Fire in Harrington

On Tuesday June 16, 2026 at 0550 hrs. the Harrington, Houston, Farmington and Felton Fire Companies along with Kent County EMS were dispatched to a trailer fire on Brooklyn Dr. off of Messicks Rd. in Harrington. Fire Chief Kenny Brode arrived first and reported fire showing from a single wide trailer and established command. Engine 50-4 arrived as first due engine and placed two hand lines in service. Additional units arrived and assisted with primary and secondary searches, ventilation and overhaul. The scene was placed under control in approximately 25 minutes and units remained on scene assisting the Fire Marshal. All units cleared the scene and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal for further investigation. The Red Cross was contacted to assist the residents. No injuries were reported. UNITS ON SCENE: Chief Vehicle, Engines 50-4 and 52-5, Tanker 50, Tanker 52, Tanker 47, Tower 50, Rescue 52, Squad 48, Brush 50, Ambulances A-52 and D-50, KM-8, FM-15, DSP, Harrington PD, Delaware Electric Co-Op and Fire Police. Greenwood Fire Company Stood By at the Harrington Fire Company during the incident. OFFICER IN CHARGE: Fire Chief Kenny Brode.
