Sunday Morning House Fire in Harrington

On Sunday September 14, 2025 at 8:08 am the Harrington, Farmington, Carlisle (Milford) and Houston Fire Companies along with Kent County EMS were dispatched for a residential structure fire in the 200 Block of East Center St. in Harrington.  Deputy Chief Robbie Brode arrived first and reported a two story, single family dwelling with smoke showing and established command.  Units arrived on scene and determined that a microwave was on fire in the kitchen.  The fire was quickly extinguished and the scene was placed under control.  Crews then performed overhaul and ventilation.  The assignment was then held to the units on scene.  All other responding units were cancelled.  The scene was turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office.  UNITS ON SCENE:  Officer 50-16, Engines 50-1 and 50-4, Tower 50, Ambulance C-50, Rescue 47, Rescue 52, Fire Police and FM-28.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Deputy Chief Robbie Brode.
