Fatal MVC - S Dupont Hwy @ Paradise Alley Rd

On Sunday April 14, 2024 at 0315 hrs. the Harrington and Felton Fire Companies along with Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to a vehicle accident with entrapment on South DuPont Hwy. in the area of Paradise Alley Rd.  Units arrived to find a single vehicle had exited the roadway striking a tree.  The driver, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle was pronounced deceased on scene.  The driver was also entrapped and extircated in approximatly 20 minutes.  Units remained on scene for several hours assisting the Delaware State Police and Del-Dot.  All units cleared the scene at approximatly 0600 hrs. and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for further investigation.  UNITS ON SCENE:  Command 50, Command 48, Ambualnce C-50 and A-48, Rescue 50, Engine 50-5, Squad 48, KM-8, Fire Police, Del-Dot, DSP and Harrington PD.  Aviation was cancelled prior to arrival.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Deputy Chief Robbie Brode.  Due to the nature of the incident and out of respect for all parties involved no photos will be released on this incident.
