Fatal Pedestrian Accident on South Dupont Hwy and Corn Crib Rd.

On Monday January 16, 2023 at 1746 hrs. the Harrington Fire Company, Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation were dispatched to vehicle accident involving a pedestrian on South DuPont Hwy. in the area of Corn Crib Rd.  Units arrived on scene to find one subject that has been struck by a vehicle and sustained serious injuries.  After being evaluated by EMS crews the victim was pronounced deceased on scene.  No other injuries were reported.  Units remained on scene assisting Del-Dot and Police Units with their investigation.  The scene was then turned over to the Delaware State Police CRU for further investigation.  UNITS ON SCENE:  50 Command, Engine 50-1, Rescue 50, Ambulance A-50, KM-8, Fire Police, Harrington PD, DSP Patrol, DSP CRU and Del-Dot.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Deputy Fire Chief Kenny Brode. Due to the nature of the incident and out of respect for all parties involved no photos will be released for this incident.
