Fatal MVC - S Dupont Hwy @ Paradise Alley Rd

On Monday October 11, 2021 at 1330 hrs. the Harrington Fire Company, Felton Fire Company (Rescue and Ambulance Assist), Kent County EMS and Delaware State Police Aviation Trooper 4 were dispatched to a vehicle accident on South DuPont Hwy. south of Paradise Alley Rd.  Units arrived on scene to find a single vehicle overturned after striking a utility pole.  Crews found the lone occupant of the vehicle was partially ejected and partially trapped underneath the vehicle.  Crews utilized air bags to lift the vehicle off of the subject so the subject could be evaluated by EMS.  Once evaluated it was determined by EMS that the subject was deceased.  The scene was then placed under control and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Police for investigation.  The roadway remained shut down for approximately 2 ½ hours.  UNITS ON SCENE:  Ambulances B-50, C-50 and A-48, Rescue 50, Engine 50-1, Rescue/Engine 48-1, Engine 48-4, KM-8, DSP Patrol Units, DSP CRU, Fire Police and Del-Dot.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Deputy Chief Kenny Brode.   Due to the nature of the incident no photos will be released and we asked that you keep all parties involved in your thoughts and prayers.
