House Fire - South Dupont Hwy
Monday, October 4, 2021

On Monday October 4, 2021 at 2:45 am the Harrington, Houston, Farmington, Carlisle (Milford) Fire Companies along with Kent County EMS were dispatched for a residential structure fire in the 1700 Block of South DuPont Hwy.  Units arrived on scene and found smoke showing from the two story multi-family dwelling.  Engine 50-4 established a water supply from a near-by hydrant and crews placed two hand lines in service.  The fire was located on the first floor and extinguished by the crews.  Both primary and secondary searched were negative.  The scene was then placed under control and all units remained on scene for overhaul. One firefighter suffered minor injuries during the incident.  All units then cleared the scene and the scene was turned over to the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office for investigation.  UNITS ON SCENE:  50 Command, Engine 50-4, Tower 50, Ambulance A-50, Utility 50-8, Tower 42, Engine 42-5, Rescue 47, Rescue 52, Tanker 52, KM-8, Harrington PD, Harrington Public Works, FM-28 and Fire Police.  OFFICER IN CHARGE:  Asst. Chief Danny McLaughlin.
